This year Netflix revolutionized the world of television when three of its original series were nominated at the Emmys. Now all of a sudden more streaming services are joining in the game. In the wake of their opponent’s success, Hulu has jumped on the original content bandwagon, with 40 shows planned in the next two years. If you’re a binge watcher, Hulu’s for you. Here is a round-up of what they have to offer.
This zany western is a little rough around the edges, but the hilarious banter can’t be beat. John Lehr (left) is a comedic genius.
Seth Meyers was great on SNL’s Weekend Update, but as the voice of an animated super hero he just kinda comes off as a whiny bitch. Weak animation with a ripoff story. Skip it.
An optimistic look at politics in the States, this show is amusing and enlightening, and it has some heart. If you dig politics, check it out.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Morgan Spurlock chronicles the everyday lives of billionaires and megastars. I love Morgan Spurlock’s work, but this feels a little like a celebrity reality show. Why are they more interesting than us regular Joe’s? They’re not, really.
This is a self-proclaimed anti review show. Basically just a bunch of regular people watching movies and talking about them. Sign me up.
UP TO SPEED
This one could have been pretty good, but it tries too hard to get laughs and inevitably falls pretty flat. It’s a pretty fun look at some of the weird sights in the city though.
THE WRONG MANS
A comedy about two average white collars who get caught up in a deadly criminal conspiracy. Coming this fall.
BEHIND THE MASK
A look at the world of sports through the eyes of mascots. Coming this fall.
